Prior to the formation of E2 Architecture & Interiors Ltd., Unit One Architects achieved a planning permission for 9 highly designed residential units in Hackney, on the edge of Downs Park. The modern scheme was for Reve developments Ltd. who were looking to achieve 7 flats and 2 houses on the site of a derelict commercial warehouse.
The scheme was negotiated through planning in 12 months and the developers achieved a significant uplift in land value from the enhancement of the site. The crisp, modern, stock brick and render proposal was designed to fit into its context by matching scale and materials. The super insulated shell and on site generated energy, provided from banks of solar panels concealed on the roofs of the development will deliver much reduced running costs for the new residents. The developers consider the project to have been a ‘huge success’ and have now sold the site to a builder developer who is currently on site building out the scheme.
